The 24 miles of trails that connect the community and pass through 900 acres of open space just might be the defining feature of Briar Chapel. Under foot, the trail might change from wooded boardwalks to paved paths. But along the way, you can stop to admire community art created by local artists especially for this community. You'll frequently see deer and other wildlife. Trail markers will help you keep the pace and ecological signage will point out key species you might find on a particular place along the trail. Explore the beauty and wonder that is Briar Chapel.

Mountain bike enthusiastswill get their fix on the competitive mountain bike trail, developed in partnership with The Triangle Off-road Cyclists. Spanning 15 miles in and around the community, it's a sustainable 18-inch wide single-track mountain bike trail. The off-road mountain bike trails opened in 2008 and since then TORC has regularly held trail building and riding events in the community- including the first ever six hour endurance race held in November 2009.
